Do you or a loved one need information about brain injury or services in New Mexico?

There are short and long term community based services and supports available to help New Mexicans with brain injuries. There are different state and federal eligibility requirements which may mean that you don’t qualify for some services. Take some time to review these fact sheets and if you have any questions contact the NM Brain Injury Advisory Council and we’ll help you find the programs to best suit your needs.

NM Brain Injury Services

All of the services below for individuals with brain injuries are administered by the Human Services Department. Get information regarding the application process for short or long term services. For other services that individuals with brain injury may qualify for please refer to the Healthcare Authority Medical Assistance Division

Every 21 Seconds Documentary

Every 21 Seconds is inspired by a true story of a traumatic brain injury survivor (Brian Sweeny). This film explores how the brain injury affects his relationships and his family life. With the support of his family and friends, he gains strength to recover and rebuild a life after sustaining a brain injury.
